The developement of wage labor in the agricultural sector of rural economies in West africa is an important mechanism of social and economic transformation as part of a process often refeerd to in the literature as monetization as part of a process often referred pecuniary transactions replace reciprocal and reditributive relations of production and exchange as a consequence of increased cash needs by direct producers.
