This dissertation examines socialization in hausa oral poetry through thje songs of the nigerien wresting singer , Sagalo, and those of the nigerian boxing singer, Dan Anace .The work is based on library research and interviews meant to fill in the gaps created by the demise of the two artists.An interdisciplinary method combining interviews, socioanthropoligical and linguistic approaches,, has been applied to analyis has found the vitality of hausa folkore in education and shapping individuals for self-awayreness about their role in society.
The hausa people of the Republic of Niger and those of Northem Nigeria have the same type of social organization with a powerful implantation of islamic religion which guides the majority of their activities.Nevertheless, oral praise song is deeply rooted in hausa communities and it plays an important role in the life...
